Over the past month or two there has been some of the most severe weather that I can remember in my lifetime. Towards the end of April severe storms and tornadoes swept up from the south and just kept coming all the way up through Tennessee. Tuscaloosa, Alabama was one of the hardest hit places, and a place called Camp Creek in Greene County (in Tennessee), and then a place called Ringgold, Georgia.
People’s homes, jobs, cars, etc. were destroyed. Many people lost their lives. Many people.
Living where I live I have always “heard” about tornadoes that were “spotted” here and there, but never touched down. Well, on that Wednesday night when these storms came through here, I have NEVER been more afraid of a storm. I was literally in the bathroom in the center of my house with my critters (Fletcher, Akilian and Roxy). They were looking at me like I was crazy until they heard the LOUD wind and hail banging the house around. I was OFFICIALLY scared and I think they were too!
A couple of days ago more severe weather swept up through Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri. The town of Joplin, Missouri was essentially flattened. They say that 75% of the town is destroyed. The images are heartbreaking. What always gets me though is the people in the images. It shows them just looking around as if they are thinking….”what do we do now?” My heart aches for them. There are many that have lost EVERYTHING, including loved ones. God please be with them right now.
We should all be lifting all those hit by these tornadoes in the past couple months up in prayer. They need it very much.
Here are two videos. The first is pretty much dark the whole time, but the audio is chilling. It is a video that someone was taking when the tornado hit them…directly hit them. Fortunately all those you hear in the video survived. Praise God. The second video has daylight images of the tornado aftermath exactly where the first video took place, which once you see you will understand how amazing it is they are alive. One truly profound thing to note…gives me chills…there is a lady you can hear in the first video just CRYING out to Jesus when the tornado hits them. I promise it will give you chills!
